ABSCBN I like ABS-CBN but their drama’s are most of the time depressing and some plots are not as realistic.if I may name a few Lorenzo’s Time, Kokey, My Binondo Girl and Arianna (please retire the sirenas may it be kiddie, Junior and Senior) for starters. To be honest I liked the plot of the afternoon dramas like Angelito and Paraiso. Some shows are going on way too long!!! My surprising 2 favorites among the drama shows are A Beautiful Affair and Kapag Puso’y Sinugatan.
What I liked about them is that they are grooming the next generation of actors. So the stars won’t get complacent that and they know that if they slack off and don’t do as well as expected someone is waiting to take their place. Another plus for them is that they don’t scrimp on the production costs like The Wedding of Daniel and Katerina in walang Hanggan or the location shoot of John Lloyd and Bea in A Beautiful Affair to name a few.
GMA 7- I don’t like most of the dramas shows that they have plots are sappy and stories are always the same. I really liked Coffee Prince though because that really gave them an edge too bad it ended so soon.II know its not easy to do and w am I to even nitpick right? They only have a few bankable actors so expect to see them on TV every 3 months. In fairness the opening or beginning of a new soap is good but it starts to wane and drag in the middle and the ending is not as good as how it started. What I like about GMA though is that they have shows that are great for Kids. They have variety in their programming which tells the viewers that we have what you need. I am so happy that they moved the Sunday Shows to Saturday especially the one for kids. I also love Sarap Diva it gives us a different look at Regine as a wife and mother who is learning to cook. I really do like the concept and format of the show. This is something that ABS doesn’t have .
TV5- I liked that they decided not to compete with the drama shows and do a different show. Like they did Artista Academy and now they are doing The Amazing Race which I really love. I wish that they’d do a recap of what happened during the week on a Saturday. I also love Sharon’s talk show. I love that her guests are ordinary folks and they are willing to share their lives to her. My favorite was when she helped the baby with Billiary Artesia. That really made me cry more than any other talk show that I’ve seen in my life. Another guilty pleasure is watching Face to Face. I love it!!!!! I like Willing WIllie too the show the other co hosts and thats it. I love that the show makes senior citizens and those with special needs a priority. Joshwa (my special son loves him!!!
I think GMA wins by a really, really small margin because they have shows that my kids can watch outside of Cable. The kiddie shows are really educational too so GMA wins because of that. Its really time to make shows that are kid friendly.
With the Internet constantly keeping people on the go, TV5 continues to expand its reach with the launch of Kristn—a digital lifestyle portal designed to contain everything and anything netizens need to live to the fullest. Consistent with the direction of its parent company PLDT, the Kapatid Network is a step further toward realizing its mission to provide exclusive digital content and services.
Kristn is TV5’s latest online venture a year after Group Chairman Manuel V. Pangilinan (MVP) predicted that TV5 will lead the new digital media revolution.
In his speech during the 22nd Philippine Ad Congress, MVP shared, “The Internet is changing the way we think, changing the way we act, changing our habits and customs.” He even conceded that the future is already here, as “the Internet will eventually democratize not only consumer choice but also content generation.” Continue reading →
